Seventeen years in finance. The right hand behind finance directors on million-pound accounts. Highly capable, and never in the room where it counted. One morning in London I phoned in sick rather than stand in a boardroom and present what I had built.
I took the same pattern into my own business. I went live and things moved fast. Then the wobble came back. My throat closed every time I said my price. I burned out, went quiet, and told myself I needed more testimonials first.
